2005 - Present Education and technical training of diverse groups in the application of watershed restoration techniques specific to drylands. Skills taught include watershed assessment, treatment prioritization, project design, implementation planning and construction techniques. Craig also develops educational materials to be used by restoration practitioners.
2007 - Present Canon Bonito stream restoration and habitat improvement, including assessment, design, planning and project implementation of multi-phased stream restoration projects. Responsibilities include equipment operation and construction of in stream boulder structures to stabilize and improve wetland habitat.
2007 - Present Galisteo River Watershed Wetlands Restoration Projects. This work consists of assessment, collaborative design, project planning and implementation of stream and wetland restoration projects, including heavy equipment operation and hand-building of restoration structures.
2005 - 2010 Erosion control, drainage and restoration specialist for Commonweal Conservancy’s conservation subdivisions in the Galisteo Basin of NM. Including assessment, design, implementation and maintenance for erosion control, road drainage and arroyo/ wetland restoration projects.
2005 - 2011 Wetland and stream habitat restoration projects at Wind River Ranch. Collaborative assessment and induced meandering project design with Bill Zeedyk. Project implementation including hand built and machine built restoration structures on the Mora River and tributaries.
2005 - Present Rio Puerco watershed restoration, a collaborative partnership with the Quivira Coalition, Rio Puerco Management Committee, Bureau of Land Management and Ojo Encino Navajo Chapter. Site assessment and design for upland restoration treatments, including training youth crews in the design and construction of watershed restoration projects.
2005 - Present Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout Habitat Restoration, a collaborative partnership with the Quivira Coalition, U.S. Forest Service and other parties. Valle Vidal Unit, Carson National Forest, New Mexico. Supervising work crews and providing logistical support for the construction of elk exclosures, in stream and upland restoration treatments to improve native trout habitat.
2009 - Present Santa Fe Botanical Garden arroyo stabilization and garden site drainage design, including project planning, design and implementation of in-channel boulder structures, site re-vegetation and passive water harvesting systems.
